Piedmont University Wireless Network

LIONS Wireless Network for Students, Faculty, and Staff

 

 

 

The Arrendale Library shares the robust wireless network that is available sitewide at both the Demorest and Athens Campuses. The wireless network's name is Lions and it is available to all students, faculty and staff of the University. Following is the procedure for joining the Lions network.

iOS or Android cell phones or tablets:

  • Open a web browser on your wireless phone or tablet.
  • Enter this URL https://cloudpath.piedmont.edu.
  • Accept the Terms of Service and Conditions of Service by clicking Start.
  • Next, you'll be presented with the usual Piedmont/Microsoft login routine. Login with your Piedmont University username and password.
  • The next screen will display a QR barcode and your personal wifi password.
  • Long-press the QR code shown on the screen and a popup menu will appear.
  • At the bottom of the popup menu, choose Wireless Network.
  • The process will use your personal wireless password and join you to the Lions WiFi network automatically.

Windows or MacOS Laptops:

  • Open a web browser on your wireless phone or tablet.
  • Enter this URL https://cloudpath.piedmont.edu
  • Accept the Terms of Service and Conditions of Service by clicking Start.
  • Next, you'll be presented with the usual Piedmont/Microsoft login routine. Login with your Piedmont University username and password.
  • The next screen will display a QR barcode and your personal WiFi password.
  • Copy your personal wireless password to the clipboard.
  • Go to the wireless network configuration settings for your device and choose to join the Lions network. 
  • When asked, supply your wireless network password and you'll be joined to the Lions network.

Whenever you connect, a copy of your WiFi password will be sent to your Piedmont or Lions email address. You can use your WiFi login password on up to 5 devices.

Lions Guest Wireless Network

LIONS GUEST Wireless Network for Guests

 

 

 

Guests at either campus can join the Lions Guest network for WiFi connectivity.

  • Navigate to the WiFi section of your system settings.
  • Select the network named Lions Guest to join it.
  • Your browser will open a webpage that will ask you to review the Terms and Conditions of Use.
  • Check the box next to I Agree to the Terms & Conditions and select Start.
  • Enter an email address where you can receive a security code. Or else supply a phone number where you can receive a security code by text message.
  • When you have the security code, return to your web browser and enter it.
  • You'll be asked to solve a Captcha security challenge to submit the security code.
  • At the next screen, enter your Wireless Verification Code. You'll be asked to solve another Captcha challenge to Continue.
  • You are now connected to the Lions Guest network.

You will be able to use the network for 24 hours, and then you'll have to rejoin.
