Library & Research Skills Tutorials

The contents of this guide show you some basics about the Library's website and how to use the online research services.

Getting the Most Out of Interlibrary Loan (ILL)

This video tutorial (3:53) will introduce you to the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service and its helper, the Full Text Finder service. These two essential services connect you to the articles you need to read for classwork and research.

The Library's online research services contain a vast number of citations to newspaper articles, articles in professional and popular magazines, and articles in academic or scholarly journals. In many cases, you may have direct, immediate access to the complete article, the Full-Text. Just click on the PDF icon or the HTML Text icon to get the article.

Sometimes, you don't see the PDF icon. You'll see the Full-Text Finder icon, which will help you find your way to the full-text article.  This tutorial provides all you need to know to get the articles (or books) you need. You'll create a request for the Library to borrow a copy from another library; this is Interlibrary Loan, ILL.

Go to the Interlibrary Loan library guide to learn more and to access your personal ILL account.
