    EBSCO Academic Ebooks provides access to over 170,000 titles, including popular, professional, and scholarly works. The collection covers the gamut of academic disciplines: the arts, business, education, health & medicine, history, law, literature & language, religion & philosophy, science & technology, and social sciences. Most of the ebooks are accessible by an unlimited number of simultaneous users, and a very large number of them are not part of any other ebook collection available through the Library.

  • Bates' Visual Guide to Physical Examination
    Bates' Visual Guide to Physical Examination is a classic resource for the professional development of nurses, athletic trainers, and other health professionals. This video series provides step-by-step instruction in physical examination. Patients and examiners represent diverse age groups and cultures to provide students with a well-rounded, realistic view. Bates' emphasizes health history and documentation and patient/practitioner interaction and communication. (The OSCE Clinical Skills Video series are not part of the Piedmont College subscription, despite the fact that the links are displayed.)
  • CINAHL Complete
    CINAHL Complete is a comprehensive source of full-text articles and citations for scholarly and professional nursing & allied health literature, providing full-text articles from more than 1,300 journals, many with searchable cited references, and citations/abstracts from 1937-present. This service contains many of the most-used nursing research journals, with no embargo. Includes all areas of nursing & allied health literature and supports professionals, students, educators, and researchers. CINAHL Complete also provides access to health care books, nursing dissertations, selected conference proceedings, evidence-based care sheets and quick lesson disease overviews, and continuing education modules. CINAHL Complete uses the CINAHL Thesaurus, which is based on the Medical Subject Headings, or MeSH, used by the National Library of Medicine. The CINAHL Thesaurus reflects the standard vocabulary used by professionals in nursing and medicine. Linking to full-text articles in other services is provided.

Based on the MEDLINE index, long the comprehensive standard research service in medicine, MEDLINE contains citations from 1857-present and full-text articles from 1865-present. Subjects include biomedicine, nursing, pre-clinical sciences, behavioral sciences, bioengineering, health policy development, life sciences, health care administration, dentistry and veterinary medicine. MEDLINE Complete is indexed with the National Library of Medicine's Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), which uses the standard vocabulary used by professionals in nursing and medicine.
